Hellenistic Philosophy

Survey of the Epicurean, Stoic, and Skeptic philosophy of the Hellenistic period. Emphasis may vary.

Class description

This course will be as much of a survey as time allows of the main lines of Epicurean, Stoic, and Sceptic thought. Meets I&S requirement. No freshmen.

Prerequisites: 320 or 330 or 340 or 431 or 433.

Class assignments and grading

Students will be required to write two 8-10 page papers.
