Jazz Pedagogy

Stylistic and esthetic developments in the performance of jazz. Key musical ingredients in the evolution of jazz as an art form and the skills commensurate with teaching these. Designed for music majors

Class description

This class specifically deals with the design, implementation, and development of a Vocal Jazz Ensemble, as part of the secondary school curriculum. Literature, travel, fundraising, programming, developing the rhythm section, vocal jazz concepts & styles will be discussed. This course is specifically designed for Mus Ed. majors.
