Class description
WAGNER'S RING CYCLE. This course examines the structure, genesis, and meaning of Wagner's four-opera cycle, Der Ring des Nibelungen. Lectures and readings will explore mythological, aesthetic, philosophical, and musical perspectives on this masterpiece. This course provides an ideal preparation for the Seattle Opera's 2013 summer production of the Ring.
