An introduction to historiographical classics and exemplary new works in the various fields of modern European history. Members of the seminar choose research topics and present the results of their research to the seminar.
Class description
Research seminar. This is the third quarter in the year-long research seminar sequence (HSTEU510-511-512). The sequence is open to History graduate students in all fields. It is required of all History graduate students whose primary field is in eastern, central, or western European history.

Completion of HSTEU 510 and HSTEU 511, or equivalent, is required.
Class assignments and grading
Independent research in consultation with the instructor and subject specialists; presentation of seminar paper drafts; discussion and peer review; presentation of article-length final draft of seminar paper.
