Class description
Students will learn basic and advanced concepts in virology by focusing on major groups of human pathogenic viruses. The major emphasis will be on virus replication, evolution, and pathogenesis. Offered Autumn quarter of even numbered years.

There will be lectures by faculty followed by class discussion of recent literature. Students will be expected to read 2 papers per week in depth and to fully participate in the discussions.
