Class description

Management is about achieving goals, pursuing a mission, and making a vision reality. Managers take responsibility for making sure an organization accomplishes these things both in the future and today. Above all managers ensure that the people who make up the organization can act effectively towards organizational goals and mission. We will look at some of the ideas, skills, and tools that effective managers use. We will also consider why some things work and why other things fail. Perhaps most importantly, I hope that you will be inspired to actively pursue managerial responsibilities and tasks with vigor and joy regardless of you position in an organization. I also hope that your work in this course will help you to be effective and fulfilled in doing so.
