Problems in Linguistics

Advanced study in current theories of syntax, semantics, phonology, or morphology. Can be repeated for credit.

Class description

The topic of this seminar is Locality in Movement. We will examine the issues of locality from the perspective of recent minimalist theory and look at constraints on different types of movement (passive, raising, scrambling, wh-movement).
