Constitutional Law I: Constitutional Structures of Government

Class description

This course is tailored to the LLM program, and it begins with the assumption that most students taking this class have had their formal legal training outside the United States. Our goal will be to gain an understanding of the American system of government and what drives Americans in their political life. In keeping with this objective, we will focus less on detailed case analysis and more on constitutional principles and their application to current events. We will discuss the historic events that led to their enactment as well as their application over the course of American history.
