Reading Seminar on Middle East Studies

Middle Eastern historiography, Islamic law, Islamic theology, relations between the Middle East and the world economy, political structures, social movements in the Middle East. Credit/no credit only.

Class description

This course will focus on professionalization of graduate students (e.g., finding funding, attending conferences) and practical research tips, including use of archives, engaging in field research, and dealing with IRB.
