Prerequisite: permission of Supervisory Committee Chairperson and Graduate Program Coordinator. Offered: AWSpS.

Class description

The course will learn how technology is being used in today's schools and is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the factors that influence a teacher's decision to integrate technology into instruction and an opportunity to create instructional plans that infuse technology into instruction.

General method of instruction

Seminar class with applications in the computer-lab.

Recommended preparation

Students should have a working knowledge of email, word processing, Internet use, and presentation software such as PowerPoint.

Class assignments and grading

1) Reading assignments 2) Examination of materials on the World Wide Web 3) Creation of exemplary instructional plans utilizing technology

1) Attendance 2) Participation in seminar discussions based on readings 3) Four instructional plans
