Class assignments and grading
The basic history is covered in lectures and a textbook. This is supplemented by discussion sections which focus on analysis of primary sources. In addition, at least ten percent of class time will be devoted to learning from visual materials. Students will have chances to show mastery of the material both through tests and through writing assignments.
