Foreign Language Teaching Methodology

Current foreign language teaching methods and approaches. Learning and teaching strategies and techniques for the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) including cultural notions. Current and future trends in pedagogy and technology. Offered: jointly with NEAR E 518/SCAND 518/SLAV 518.

Class description

Introduction to communicative-based language teaching practices for first-time language teaching assistants. Plenty of demonstrations and hands-on activities are provided. Integrated with departmental language specific sections. Prerequisite: Must be holding teaching assignment or permission of instructor.
