Class description
This class will introduce you and hopefully familiarize you with the University of Washington. It will cover technical aspects (like registration) and conceptual areas (like staying healthy). We will be looking at all the opportunities that the UW has to offer undergraduates, as well as what opportunities they have for the future.
Student learning goals
Be informed about the UW...it's not such a scary place!
Make friends with your FIG mates.
Feel comfortable with such a big campus and the resources that are available to you.
General method of instruction
A fun and VERY IMPORTANT discussion-based class, held once a week. Complete participation is required.
Recommended preparation
None...just be yourself and bring yourself to every class.
Class assignments and grading
Online discussion forum and active, engaged participation.
Grades are based on participation and doing ALL of the assignments. This is a credit/no credit class, so you must have a grade of 80% to pass.
