Class description

The most important thing you will get out of this class is the friendships. So with that, most class meetings will consist of "getting to know your peers". Nothing too heavy or serious, but I want you guys to leave this class with a better understanding, and appreciation towards each other. I will try my best to provide you with that oppurtunity, and I just hope you give your full effort as well. Other than that, this class will be really chill, relaxing, and it should help you relieve some of the stress from your other classes. I want you to have fun in this class, be comfortable to be yourself around everyone in the class, and be interested in the things we do, and talk about.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Very laid back.

Recommended preparation

Prepare to meet some cool new people! Other than that, enjoy the rest of your summer!!!

Class assignments and grading

You will have really short, easy assignments assigned weekly. None of the homework I give you should take more than 30 minutes. And that's 30 total minutes in a week. (I promise!)But also, do know that if you do not do these homework assignments on a weekly basis then you might find yourself spending hours on them at the last minute.

You will keep an online Portfolio, which is REQUIRED, and you will turn in at the end of the quarter for credit. It is basically an online journal you can say. I will go into more detail about once school starts.

Also you will go on a few excursions around campus, and around the city of Seattle. You will do one Excursion on your own, and the rest you should and want to do them with the whole class, me included. These are REQUIRED too. More about these once school starts.

And thats it!

(BTW, I took this class last year, and I know what I didn't like about it, and what I did like about it. I will not make you do anything that I feel you shouldn't do, or what I think you will not like to do. I am a fun guy, so hopefully that will reflect in the assigments I give you.)

Basically you control your fate in this class. If you do the assignments, you will get full points. Also, I will help you as much as I can, so you can do well in this class.

The information above is intended to be helpful in choosing courses. Because the instructor may further develop his/her plans for this course, its characteristics are subject to change without notice. In most cases, the official course syllabus will be distributed on the first day of class.
