Advanced Topics in Landscape Ecology
Landscape ecology is the study of both the drivers of spatial pattern and the effects of those patterns on ecological systems. This seminar will address a wide range of relatively complex topics in landscape ecology. Students will read 2-3 papers per week and take turns leading discussions. Potential discussion topics include: chaos theory, metapopulation dynamics, circuit theory, ecosystem services, conservation planning, and forecasting exotic invasions and spread.
