Individual tutorial study of topics for which there is not sufficient demand to warrant the organization of regular classes. Offered: AWSpS.

Class description

Summer 2008:

This course will be taught primarily by field trips to restoration sites. We will learn how to analyze success or failure in restoration by looking at young and old restoration projects in a variety of settings, including wetlands, prairies, forest settings, oak woodlands, highly urbanized areas, etc.

Going to sites and working with the instructor to determine the effectiveness of restoration projects.

Recommended preparation

Class assignments and grading

Each field trip will be to a different site. For each site students will prepare a site description and an evaluation checklist to determine the effectiveness of the restoration.

Site descriptions and restoration evaluation sheets will form the basis for grades in this class.
