Class description
For SUMMER 2008: Gender and Sex at the Fin de Siecle A swift survey of the following late Victorian phenomena: imperial masculinity, the New Woman, eugenics, sexology, aestheticism and decadence. Novels include Gissing's The Odd Women, Haggard's King Solomon's Mines, and Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.
