Class description
Course Description: Introduction to the theory and practice of writing the short story. As a class we will explore the writing process, writing techniques, characterization, narrative structures, setting & mood, point of view & voice, as well as mechanics and style. You will read a variety of selected short stories and draft your own stories—challenging yourself to try different techniques and styles. The course will culminate in a final writing project. Revision is a core practice of the class.
