Intensive study of the ways and means of making a poem.
Class Description
In this class well consult the work, both poetic and academic, of contemporary poets to learn the ins and outs of writing verse: image, metaphor, music, form and voice. Well write poems based on assigned exercises. Well share these poems with our classmates in a supportive workshop fashion. And, at the end of the quarter, well have a solid foundation of poetic craft and a renewed appreciation for the art.
