Study and practice of good writing: topics derived from a variety of personal, academic, and public subjects. Cannot be taken if student has already received a grade of 2.0 or higher in either ENGL 111, ENGL 121, or ENGL 131.
Class description
This is an introductory writing course designed to prepare you for the complex and varied writing tasks you will face as an undergraduate at the University of Washington. Through close examination of written and visual “texts,” class discussions, one-on-one conferences, and extensive writing, you will develop the skills necessary to communicate effectively in the university context.
