Human Learning and Educational Practice

Systematic examination of current research about human learning in educational settings, including the study of behavioral, information processing, social construction, and the developmental perspectives on learning. Offered: AWSpS.

Class description

Students become familiar with influential learning theories and how they apply to classroom practice.

Instructor facilitated discussion of assigned readings.

Recommended preparation

501 is the foundational course in Educational Psychology. Graduate standing is required. Advanced undergraduates may inquire with instructor.

Class assignments and grading

Reading articles and/or book chapters, writing 2-3 short reflection papers and one term project.

Class participation and written assignments.
