Individual or group projects to help teachers adapt instruction to selected topics, issues, or problems and to identify the approaches and instructional resources that provide the soundest learning experiences.
Class description
This course is designed for undergraduate students interested in gaining experience and insight into science teaching in urban high-needs secondary schools (grades 7-12). This is a service learning course where most of the hours will be spent in local middle and high schools coupled with experienced teachers. We will also meet as a group to discuss “best science teaching practices” that are both rigorous and responsive to students’ needs.
