Consideration of current literature and topics in forest ecosystems and tree physiology. Offered: AWSp.
Students can expect to become familiar with a diverse range of ecological issues in National Parks. They may also learn of research needs that are appropriate for graduate or post-graduate level research.
Each class will be taught by a lecturer from a National Park, federal agency, or research institution. Each lecturer will discuss a research project within a national park.
If students are interested, future independent studies can be arranged with guest lecturers or through Dr. Rochefort.
Readings may be suggested by the instructors, but course attendance, listening, and engaging in discussion about the presentation is the main method of preparation.
