Design and Technical Drafting

Laboratory and project critique covering stage design graphics and technical drawing; specifically: designer's elevations, ground plans, sections, detail drawing, transposition of design drawing information to technical drawings. Recommended: DRAMA 210.

Class description

The course covers the basics of two-dimensional technical drafting both by hand and with the aid of a computer program, in this case VectorWorks. Other computer programs, in particular AutoCad, can be explored by students by arrangement with the Instructor, as long as a good foundational understanding of VectorWorks is established.
