Theatre Appreciation

Covers the art of live theatrical performance. Discussion of how theatre is assembled, who the artists are, what they do, how theatre differs from other media, and how the various genres and styles of performance function, to create a deeper understanding of live performance. Offered: AWSp.

Class description

This online course is a general introduction to the theatre. Throughout the course, you will develop the critical skills and the vocabulary you need to appreciate live theatre. The course begins by building theatrical vocabulary, then moves on to explain the various components of creating theater and the processes of manifesting ideas on stage.
