Studio course in folk dance and social dance forms at the intermediate level of instruction. Topics include salsa and Latin dance, ballroom, tango, or swing dance. Prerequisite: either DANCE 231, DANCE 236, DANCE 237, DANCE 238, or DANCE 239.
Class description
Winter 2012: This course will be an intermediate level ballroom dance course, covering dances such as foxtrot, waltz, rumba, samba, cha cha, quickstep, and jive. The course will focus on expanding students' proficiency in partner dancing in these and related ballroom dances. American style social ballroom will be the primarily focus of the course, but international style ballroom and competitive dances may also be studied depending on student interest.

Students should have basic proficiency in bronze-level steps and techniques in at least four of the following dances prior to taking the course: foxtrot, waltz, rumba, samba, cha cha, quickstep, jive.
