Web Programming

Covers languages, tools, and techniques for developing interactive and dynamic web pages. Topics include page styling, design, and layout; client and server side scripting; web security; and interacting with data sources such as databases. Prerequisite: minimum grade of 2.0 in either CSE 140, CSE 142, or CSE 143.

Class description

An introduction to programming for the World Wide Web. You will learn about HyperText Markup Language (HTML) for authoring web pages, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for styling pages, PHP Hypertext Processor for generating dynamic pages on a server, JavaScript for creating interactive pages, Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) for enhanced web interaction and applications, and Structured Query Language (SQL) for interacting with databases.
