Class description
The organization of American labor-management relations; key pieces of labor and employment legislation and regulation and the primary purpose, issues, and impact of each; labor contract terms, especially those dealing with wages, hours, and fringe benefits; certain procedures used in the processes of collective bargaining; and labor relations in union and open shop construction.

General method of instruction
Lecture/discussion led by the instructor and his guests. Students opportunity to participate depends necessarily on class size and the material to be covered.
Recommended preparation
This course is required for CM seniors. CEE and other non-CM seniors and grad students are encouraged to consider CEE 593 due to 433s class size.
Class assignments and grading
Each week students should preview the websites class outlines and their linked materials. They may also do the recommended reading as listed in the schedule.
Students earn scores on three essay exams and a team collective bargaining game report. Grades are based on their total scores.
