Project Management I

Introduction to the organization, management, and administrative functions on construction projects including a hands-on and extensive case study of a commercial construction project, cost control, and introduction to the concepts of Value Engineering, partnering, and Total Quality Management. Class description

CM 421 will expose students to the various systems and tools employed in managing construction projects as professionals.

General method of instruction

Online learning course which encompasses the following (1) 5 assignments (2) 5 quizzes (3) 5 case studies (4)6 - 1 hour conference calls

Recommended preparation

Knowledge of Construction Scheduling, Safety Practices and Estimating techniques.

Class assignments and grading

Each lesson will focuses on topics explored in specific textbook reading assignments. Each lesson also includes a case study, quiz and written assignment.
