Class description
The intent of this course is to help students develop an understanding of the construction industry, its importance, its key features, and its terminology. This class will also explore the processes used in the industry, the players involved and their roles, and the contracts that govern the conduct of the participants in construction.
Major topics discussed in class will include: Project Phases, Construction Contracts, Project Management, Estimating, Scheduling, Project Controls, and Project Administration.

General method of instruction
To accomplish the above objectives we will utilize instructor lectures, class discussions, review of construction contracts & documents, reading assignments, student homework assignments, and outside presenters.
Recommended preparation
Purchase 2 class documents from Odegaard (OUGL) Library Copy Center, in addition to the textbook.
