Class description

"The Films of Werner Herzog"

This research seminar explores the films of Werner Herzog from 1968 to the present. Readings and discussions will concentrate on questions of cinematic style, genre, authorship, and performance as well as on topical issues of war, memory, documentary, corporeality, vision, colonialism, spirituality, and identity. Readings and discussions are in English.
