General method of instruction

Class time will be spent primarily on practicing the usage of new grammar and vocabulary, and the reading and discussion of texts. We will also spend time on in-class group activities designed to improve fluency and spontaneity in language use.

Recommended preparation

Students should have completed CHIN 201 with a solid grasp of the course material.

Class assignments and grading

Students will need to prepare every day for class, previewing and reviewing vocabulary, grammar, and texts. There will be regular homework assignments, quizzes, and tests. In addition, there will be one skit and one essay assigned for the quarter.

Grades are based on homework, tests and quizzes, the skit and essay, and on preparation and performance in class.
