Class description
This course has two major goals. First, through readings, lectures, and class discussions, students will gain an overview of LGBT media studies, with a focus on both negative and homophobic media coverage and inclusive and empowering media coverage. Second, through workshops, media lessons, and peer facilitation, students will receive an introduction into creating their own media coverage, with a goal of getting their perspectives, ideas, and causes into the media sphere.
