Class description
The objective of Business Communications 301 is to improve your written and oral communication skills. In the course, you will learn how to choose the correct writing style; communicate successfully to your audience; organize your message; make a successful oral presentation using effective visuals; draft, revise and polish your writing; and analyze your writing for effectiveness.

Class assignments and grading
The class is divided roughly into: 40% writing, 40% presentation skills, 20% software aids such as PowerPoint and Excel graph generation. You will write memos and letters, practice speaking before the class, and learn the software that will help you make effective presentations and graphs.
There are some credit/no-credit assignments; the remainder of the assignments are graded.
