Senior Seminar in Ecology

Supervised readings and group discussion. Prerequisite: BIOL 356.

Class description

This course will be an introduction to urban farming and specifically to the u.w. farm. This quarter we will focus on soil building through compost, seed saving, and food preservation.

Student learning goals

Students gain an appreciation for the possibilities of urban agriculture.

Students will better understand the connections between food systems and sustainability.
