Class description
This course is intended for graduate students to learn about a range of topics in modern research on astronomy and astrophysics.
Student learning goals
General method of instruction
One hour lectures each week by guest speakers who are experts in their fields of astronomy and astrophysics.
Recommended preparation
Class assignments and grading
Requirements are to (1) attend at least 4 colloquia; (2) ask 2 questions out loud during the quarter of various speakers; (3) come up with a possible research topic/problem/question that you were inspired to think of while attending the talks.
