Topics in Current Astronomy

Recent developments in one field of astronomy or astrophysics.

Class description

This course offers the introduction to programming needed for astronomical applications: Linux operation system, PERL and IDL. Recommended for astronomy majors planning to take 400-level astronomy courses, to persue individual research projects, or to apply for Research Experience for Undergraduate appointments (REUs).
