Supervised studio for advanced-level students from various media-based disciplines designed to develop an interest in and familiarity with aspects of drawing. Utilization of various media. Discussion of historical and contemporary issues concerning drawing.
Class Description
Students can expect to extend their knowledge of drawing- the course focuse is on individual ideas in relationship to contemporary issues- emphasis on process and probity are central to this course.
Individual critiques--independent studio work--classroom work sessions and critiques, group discussions.
Recommended preparation
Graduate students whose interest in drawing is supported by extensive undergraduate or graduate work in various media.
Class Assignments and Grading
Individual/independent. Open to various directions and ideas.Out of class work is required. Each week one session is reserved to facilitate research and independent work.
Individual development-- portfolio.
