Individual compositions in various media in large scale. Prerequisite:either ART 332, ART 333 or ART 335.
Class description
The emphasis on this class will be developing a rigorous studio practice. The class will contain two voices - one concerned with form and the other with meaning. Their talking point, which will be ours, is the work of art. Focus will be on sophistication of content and appropriate levels of craftsmanship.

Students are expected to work on their own projects in consultation with the instructor. Seminar style group discussions and critiques.
Studio Format
Recommended preparation
Sculpture program major and prerequisites.
Class assignments and grading
Students will work on individual projects as well as participate in discussions. Students should read all the material provided for the class, submit work at the four occasions announced in the class, write one short proposal at the beginning of the quarter, and an artist statement for the submission of work.
Successful completion of studio projects.
