Builds on skills developed in ART 206 while expanding the focus on design process through a broad variety of image production techniques. Emphasizes concept development through assignments that address the communication of editorial and/or persuasive content. Prerequisite: ART 211; ART 212. Offered: A.

Class description

An understanding of bringing abstract concepts into comprehensive visual form.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Slide presentations and lectures. This year there will be two guest lecturers from Europe that will each conduct a one week workshop.

Recommended preparation

Library readings and previous design & design history classes.

Class assignments and grading

Various formats but primarily focusing on the 'poster' as a method of communication.

Projects and participation in class.
