Development of mature and personal statement within context of the print form through studio practice and group discussion and critique. Processes and media emphasis varies on a revolving basis.
Class description
Spring 2013, this class will be Serigraphy (screenprinting). We will use water-based inks to develop prints on paper, with a short foray into printing on fabric. The course will cover hand-cut stencils, painterly stencils, and photo-emulsion. Assignments will include an edition, a collaborative project and a print exchange. Instruction will be primarily hands-on demonstrations and examples. Coursework will include research, critiques and a lot of studio work, including required work in the studio outside of class hours.
