Digital Imaging II

Advanced topics in 2-D imaging, with emphasis on creative exploration of both software tools and possible integration with traditional art media. Prerequisite: ART 340.

Class description

The class will be concerned with extending the "frame" of the 2D image into the realm of interactive display. Primarily by learning the basics of linear and non-linear sequencing through MacroMedia's Director, the student will produce free standing interactive works.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

A concentration on MacroMedia's Director program, with class demonstrations, group and individual labs, and sequential assignments. Emphasis will be placed on the final project, which will be group authored.

Recommended preparation

Photography majors have priority, followed by other School of Art majors. Required: Art 340, Digital Imaging I, or permission of instructor.
