Intermediate Fiber Studio

Explores more advanced techniques used in the basic fiber media, weaving and surface design. Technical focus of each class varies. Covers pattern development, expanded scale, visual clarity, and conceptual depth. Prerequisite: either ART 226 or ART 227.

Class description

Techniques and methods of producing large scale works.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Studio lectures, demonstrations, guest speakers.

Recommended preparation

Introduction to Surface or Introduction to Structure.

Class assignments and grading

4 studio projects.

Technical quality, aesthetic excellence, participation.
