Prerequisite: ART 257.
Class Description
This course emphasizes observation, working process and familiarity with materials--it introduces ideas and concepts concerning painting practice, attention to colour and drawing.
Students can expect to develop their knowledge of painting process, technique and materials. They will become more familiar with terms and ideas , concerning observation, figurative, and avstract painting.
One to one instruction, critiques, and group discussions.
Recommended preparation
Beg. painting-- at least 2 drawing classes, figure painting.
Class Assignments and Grading
Assignments involve observation, individual research of particular artists' work. Out of class work is required in order to develop and extend work.
Development of work--completion of assignments, attendance.
