Explores the structure of two- and three-dimensional textile forms. Students work with floor looms, computer-aided looms, as well as working directly with materials.
Class description
Traditional and experimental use of loom. Computer design software for weave design.
Student learning goals
General method of instruction
Demonstration, slide lectures, studio visits and guest artists. Majority of work will take place in campus studio where weaving equipment is located. Plan to spend 15-20 hours a week on class.

Class assignments and grading
Technical studios build sequentially to more complex structures. Independent interpretation encouraged on all work.
Successful completion of all assigned work.
