Alternative Approaches to Art and Design

Presentation of process through which artists discover and translate ideas, feelings, and concerns into images or objects. Use of a wide variety of methods and approaches, from traditional to technological, to promote visual expression. Discussion and critiques leading toward better understanding the creative process.

Summer Quarter 2003: Drawing for Real Space

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

An alternative approach to drawing. Explores the relationship of drawing to object making. The creation of and the keeping of an extensive, daily drawing journal will be emphasized. Assignments and in-class as well as personal critiques will be given.

Material and supply list given on the first day of class.
