Private Instruction: Saxophone

Intended for graduate majors. Audtion required.

Class description

Advanced, graduate level saxophone instruction for preparation of a professional career in music.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Individual private lessons given weekly. Extensive outside practice, research, and preparation are required.

Recommended preparation

Several years of performance experience and private instuction, and a very high, prefeesional level of proficiency on the saxophone.

Class assignments and grading

This is a rigorous course intended for graduate music majors. There are weekly assignments of scales and technical studies, preparation of concert literature for performances.

Quality of music performance and evidence of consistent, significant advancement.
