Special Topics in Anthropology

Delineation and analysis of a specific problem or related problems in anthropology.

Class description

Anthropology and Sports. We will connect sports to themes of interest to sociocultural anthropology, such as gender, race, class, religion, language, media, politics, community, etc. The goal is for students to see anthropology in their daily lives, and to exlore the many and varied ways that sports reflect, or challenges cultural norms.
