Class description

Enrollment in this course requires concurrent enrollment in Accounting 215 taught only by Bill Wells. This course will cover the same material taught in Accounting 215, that is, financial accounting. It will, however, be taught differently than in a traditional lecture format.

Student learning goals

A better understanding of the material presented in Accounting 215.

If the goal above is accomplished, the student should receive a higher grade than he or she would otherwise have received in Accounting 215.

If the goal above is accomplished, the student should be more competitive for entrance into the Business School.

General method of instruction

Class is usually limited to 15 persons so a lot of one-on-one discussions occur. 100% of instruction is through discussion.

Recommended preparation

Do everything required in Accounting 215 in a timely manner. In addition, you must attend 80% of the 199 classes (attendence will be taken) and turn in 80% of the homework assigned in Accounting 215. That homework must also be turned in by each midterm.

Class assignments and grading

See above

A pass/fail grade are the only grades awarded in this course. In addition to the above, in order to receive a passing grade, the student must earn a 2.0 grade in Accounting 215.

The information above is intended to be helpful in choosing courses. Because the instructor may further develop his/her plans for this course, its characteristics are subject to change without notice. In most cases, the official course syllabus will be distributed on the first day of class.
