Class description
Brief Description: This course examines contemporary game design theories and methodologies used to create games for a variety of genres and purposes – incuding special considerations when designing games for a variety of platforms ranging from console to mobile/social. You will learn core pre-production processes, understand player behavior/motives, learn advanced game balance and design techniques, testing methodologies, and development strategies. Emphasis will also be placed on game design architecture, implementation and content management approaches and “gameification” techniques for other applications. Students will complete a series of game design projects in this course – and have some fun, too!
